It seems like everywhere you turn, people are detoxing. Is this another Hollywood trend or are these people onto something?
Detoxification is a natural part of our body’s daily functions. Going to the bathroom and sweating are just two examples of how we release toxins from our body. Unfortunately, the process doesn’t always work as efficiently as it should as a result of our diet, environmental pollution, stress, and lack of sleep. The result? A toxic waste dump festering in our bodies, which can cause a wide range of symptoms such as: difficulty losing weight, zapped energy, brain fog, cravings, headaches, digestive distress, puffy eyes and dark circles, allergies, frequent illness, or chronic pain – not to mention the interference with nutrient absorption from eating a healthy diet. Long term, toxins can cause inflammation and lead to more serious conditions like autoimmunity, heart disease, or cancer.
Imagine for a minute if you lived in a very small space. What would it be like if you could only remove 20% of the trash you brought in? What would it feel like to be in that space after a week?
