Three days into the brand new school year and I was still getting choked up when I put her on the bus.
We’re now in week 2, and I’m much more mentally stable. I suppose a day at the beach this week with my #2 totally helped.
I swear, having just one child to keep out of trouble during the day is like a freaking vacation. Even the little one, despite her incessant home-wrecking, is a walk in the park. Don’t get me wrong, they are a heart-melting combo and get along amazing 90% of the time. But it’s that 10% that can drive this mama to drink.
Anyway, enough about me.
Now that we’re in big kid territory (the land known as kindergarten) 5 FULL days a week, I now need to be on guard for certain little things that are shared by this adorable population unknowingly and unwillingly via backpacks, close learning quarters, clothes, and cubbies.
If there is one mantra that we live by in this house, it’s this…
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Plus it’s way cheaper than going to the doctor. (Tweet this out)
That’s why I {heart} my therapeutic-grade essential oils so much. They’ve got us totally ready to rock the school year with whatever it throws at us.
So this easy hair spray for kids that I whipped up is our ounce of prevention – to keep my sweet girl’s hair healthy and uninhabited – IF you get my drift. This natural hair spray not only works great, but also smells amazing – it’s the best of both worlds!
Now the thing to remember is this…not all essential oils are created equal. Many that you get in the health food store or Amazon could potentially be cut with synthetics – which is why the prices vary so greatly. This not only sucks because you THINK you’re getting something super awesome (and you’re not), BUT it can also be really dangerous. I’ve heard horror stories (including a very close friend of mine) of people having reactions to essential oils purchased from questionable sources.
Like my food, I want to know exactly where my oils are coming from – especially since I’m using them on my children and for therapeutic purposes – not just to make my dish soap smell nice. This is the only brand of essential oils that I trust and use with my family. The bonus – I get them at wholesale – a whopping 24% off!
