Homemade Deodorant
Have you ever wondered if homemade deodorant that actually works is just a fairy tale?
Kind of like some knight in shining armor coming to rescue you from 7 little dudes in the middle of the woods and a big old bite off a poison apple?
I thought so too, and for YEARS – have been on the hunt for something that actually works that I can DIY. Darren too. Since he joined me on the crunchy train a couple of years back, he ditched the aluminum-laden toxic waste dump commercial deodorants and opted for the natural brands.
But to be honest, they didn’t work so good. Dudes can get sweaty. And stinky. I’m not making this up.
So, we did a bit of research – and found that SOMETHING about lemon juice being a fantabulous remedy for body odor. So if lemon juice can do that, imagine what super concentrated Lemon Essential Oil can do? Right? Right.
So, I paired Lemon Essential Oil with one of my other favorite odor-eating blends, Purification, and BOOM – this deodorant was born.
I don’t know, all I know is this stuff WORKS. And my harshest test client – my darling Darren – agrees. And best of all, it’s free of baking soda – so it’s perfect for those with sensitive skin!
Plus, it smells amazing. “So fresh and so clean clean“…bad OutKast reference? My apologies.
Now here’s the thing. The key to remember is that not all essential oils are created equal. Quality matters, my friends – especially when you’re putting it on your skin – your largest organ! This is the only brand of essential oils that I trust with my family’s wellness.
Side note: in my early days of essential oil dabbling, I was a cheapskate and attempted to make my own version of Purification blend with various off brands of the oils used in Purification. What happened? It stained my diffuser. Real Purification does not do that. This made me question what is REALLY in other brands of essential oils (don’t trust the labels – know thy farmer – the end). Now I just stick with this company and have had no issues.

Is this supposed to leave a wet looking perspiration spots under arms?
This mixture did not harden, it is a gel, what would cause that?
It leaves me oily. It needs something like arrowroot to thicken it up a bit.
